Your Council have voiced its concerns directly to the police about this issue on our stretch of road but we are told that on the three occasions that they have done speed checks they did not find anyone speeding!

The Parish Council have requested a speed camera to be erected but we are told that we do not fit the criteria i.e. sufficient number of reported accidents causing injuries or death. You may have seen from the recent "Traffic Calming" survey and Road Show that some measures will be undertaken in an effort to keep speed within the 30 m.p.h. limit. These measures include signage beside and on the road and electronic speed indicators. These measures, of course, will only be effective to those members of the public who act responsibly but unfortunately will not be a deterrent to mindless idiots who regard themselves as immortal.

The Parish Council will continue to watch out for problems on this stretch of road especially with the building of the new District Centre and housing estate.
