Pat Grant-Hudson (Chairman)
"I have lived in the county for 40 years and in Hucclecote for over 30 years. A Registered General Nurse, I was the working owner of a Nursing and Residential Homes Care business. Appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1980, I became a member of the Independent Monitoring Board of HM Prison Gloucester in 1981 and am presently Chairman ofthe IMB at HM Prison Bristol.
I was elected to the County Councilin 1985 and served on many committees including Social Services and the Police, and was the Chairman of the Police Consultative Committee and a member of the South West Regional Health Authority.
In 1989 I became Sheriff's Lady and Deputy Mayoress, a civic appointment in which year saw the opening of Merchant's Quay; the Three Choirs Festival; the ship's company of HMS Gloucester exercising its right to march through the city and its subsequent departure and participation in the Gulf War; the celebrations of the 900th anniversaryof Gloucester Cathedral and the undertaking of civic duties in St. Anne's, Jamaica.
I became a member of the Hucclecote Parish Council in 2004, and consider the interests of the Parish very important. I am married and have 2 sons, both with families who give us great pleasure" |
